Pininfarina
Paolo Pininfarina, the youngest son of Sergio Pininfarina's three children, was born in Turin, Italy in 1958 and graduated in 1982 from Turin's Politecnico with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following an internship at Honda in Tokyo, he joined the Board of Directors of Pininfarina Studies and research in 1984. in February 1987, he was manager of a GM 200 program in which numerous prototypes were developed. After working at General Motors on the Allante program, he formed Pininfarina Extra, a professional studio active in industrial design, interiors and architecture. His first products include writing instruments, sunglasses, watches, and apparel, sporting goods, and kitchens. Pininfarina is most famous in the United Staes for the Ferrari and Cadillac 'Allante' automobile styling,but the company also designs industrial plans and equipment, as well as creating general and commercial products. The OLA kitchen for Snaidero won the Chicago Atheneum 1996 Good Design Award and the Viva kitchen was recognized by Kitchen & Bath Business Magazine for Product Innovation in 1998.

Gae Aulenti
Ms. Aulenti, creator of the ETRA kitchen series for Gruppo Snaidero, has enjoyed an illustrious career as an international architect. A graduate of the Milan Polytechnic School of Architecture, her projects combine an appreciation for traditional forms expressed in new ways. Her famous interior design for the Musee d'Orsay in Paris, France, gives visual definition to Ms. Aulenti's belief that, "Fundamental to architecture and design is the belief that simple, essential shapes can achieve enduring results". She directed the restoration of the Palazzo Grassi in Venice, Italy, as well as the Palacio Nacional de Montjuic (Museum of Catalan Art) in Barcelona, Spain. Also in Spain, Ms. Aulenti organized the Italian Pavilion for the World Fair in Seville. Her other public works include a new entrance for the Santa Maria Novella railway station in Florence, restructuring of the Palazzo Muti-Bussi in Rome, planning of the Civic Museum in Prato. Always seeking a wider application of form and design, Ms. Aulenti acted for many years as the art director of Casabella, a magazine published in Milan by a group of avant-garde architects.

Giovanni Offredi
Giovanni Offredi, creator of the Contralto series for Gruppo Snaidero, was born in Milan, Italy in 1927. After completing technical and artistic studies, he devoted many years to a career n construction and interior architecture. In the early 1960's, Offredi began to explore the design of cabinetry as structures and as aesthetic components in themselves. This has led to fruitul collaborations of many years with furniture and cabinet manufacturers. His past collaborations with Snaidero includes the following projects: Kalya, Pragma, and Krios. Offredi's designs are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, New York, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Angelo Mangiarotti
Angelo Mangiarotti, designer of the famed 'STATUS' series for Gruppo Snaidero, born in Milan, Italy, holds a degree in architecture from the city's 'Politecnico' University. While working in the United States in the mid-1950's, he becameacquainted with Frank Lloyd Wright , Walter Gropius, Mies Van Der Rohe, and Konrad Wachsman. Mangiarotti established an office with Bruno Morassutti upon his return to Milan, a collaboration which lasted until 1960. A teacher as well as an architect, Mangiarotti has taught in both Italian and foreign universities. His work has appeared in many books and professional magazines. Among his most renowned buildings are: Gruppo Snaidero corporate headquarters in Majano, Italy; industrial buildings in Alzate Brianza, Italy; the railway stations of Certosa and Rogoredo, Italy; and the railway canopies of Milan, Repubblio, and Venice. His research projects are always carried out with the utmost regard for the native properties of the materials with which he is working. Mangiarotti has received numerous awards in both the design and construction industries and is recognized and respected world wide.

Massimo losa Ghini
Massimo Iosa Ghini, born in Bologna, Italy, 1959, began his architectural studies in Florence, Italy and graduated at the Politechnico in Milan. Since 1985, when he developed Studio Iosa Ghini, he has designed for international companies such as Yamagiwa Lighting, Duravit, Dornbracht and Hoesch, as well as a group of select Italian furniture companies such as Poltrona Frau, Cassina, Moroso, Flou and Fiam. His professional evolution can be traced from his famous futuristic illustrations to projects of exhibition areas, cultural and commercial installations, and the design of world-wide store and showroom chains for a list of highly regarded companies such as Ferrari, Fiorucci, Superga, Omnitel, Maserati, and Infostrada. His characteristic rounded forms and modern flair are found in everything he designs from his cartoon sketches to a television set designed for RAI TV in Italy, accessories for Alessi and Mandarina Duck, BolidŽ nightclub in New York, and a metro station in Hannover, Germany commissioned for the Expo 2000. Studio Iosa Ghini currently comprises a team of 20 architects, designers, communication and management specialists.

Roberto Lucci & Paolo Orlandini
Roberto Lucci, a Milanese born in 1942, studied at the Chicago Institute of Design. Paolo Orlandini, born in 1941 in Grosseto, earned his degree at the Faculty of Architecture of the Milan Polytechnic. Since 1968, Lucci and Orlandini have designed in two different offices that collaborated together, but also sometimes competed—a method that has come to stimulate self-criticism and has added creativity to their projects. Specializing in the design of office furniture, chairs and kitchens, together they have created more than 250 products for firms such as Antonelli Bontempi, Artemide, Biesse, Brionvega, Calligaris, Candy, Ciatti, Fantoni, Grazioli-Grandsolei, Knoll, Lamm, Mascagni Peg-Perego, Pirelli, Riello, Tisettanta, Zerowatt, etc. Lucci and Orlandini have taken part in various editions of the Milan Triennial and they have works present in the design collections of the Museum of Modern Art of New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago, the Museum fur Kunst und Gewerbe of Hamburg and of the Centre National D’Art Contemporain of the Louvre in Paris. Various products designed by Lucci and Orlandini have been selected for the Compasso D’Oro prize (1979, 81, 84, 87, 89, 91); they have won numerous international prizes, among which 3 “Sim-Industrial design” prizes (Milan 1971, 78); 2 prizes of the Institute of Business Designers (New York 1982, 86); 2 SMAU Industrial Design prizes (Milan 1971, 78); 3 “Industrie Forum Design Hannover” prizes (1983, 90, 92); 1 international prize “Gran Design” (Milan 1997); 2 Catas prizes (Udine 1998); 1 Top Ten prize (Udine 1999); 1 Gold Award Best of Neocon (Chicago 2000). Lucci and Orlandini have taught at the European Institute of Design, at the Polytechnic of Milan and in numerous universities in Belgium, the U.S.A., Australia and South America. In 1999 they published the book “Product Design Models”, V.N., Reinhold Editore, New York.
